چکیده

Sensorimotor control of axial segments, which develops during childhood and is not mature until adolescence, essential for the development balance motor activities. Children with cerebral palsy (CP) have deficits in postural when standing or walking, including less stabilization head trunk could affect control. Is dynamic segments an unstable sitting task deficient children CP compared to typically developing children? this deficit correlated standing? Seventeen (GMFCS I-II) 17 typically-developing from 6 12 years old were rated on Trunk Control Measurement Scale (TCMS). In addition, posturography was evaluated participants while they maintained their stable sitting, quiet standing, under “eyes open” closed” conditions. tasks, had remain being prevented using lower upper limbs (i.e. ensure involvement alone). TD significantly larger surface area, mean velocity RMS values CoP displacements measured task, both No significant group effects observed task. The TCMS total score lower, indicating deficit, than variables tasks. indeed a specific impairment segments. Since important its should be taken into account rehabilitation programs CP.

Evaluation of postural stability in children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy

[Purpose] Postural stability is the ability of to maintain the position of the body within the support area. This function is affected in cerebral palsy. The aim of the present study was to compare static and dynamic postural stability between children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy and healthy controls. [Subjects and Methods] Thirty-seven children between the ages of 5 and 14 diagnosed with he...

Development of postural control in typically developing children and children with cerebral palsy: possibilities for intervention?

The basic level of postural control is functionally active from early infancy onwards: young infants possess a repertoire of direction-specific postural adjustments. Whether or not direction-specific adjustments are used depends on the child's age and the nature of the postural task. The second level of control emerges after 3 months: children start to develop the capacity to adapt postural act...
